Since some of you may want to re-use your journals in future games, I thought maybe we could save you the trouble of having to go in and uncheck all those friend journals you had for NS. So here's a "Friend Stripper" that, as the name suggests, strips all the friends from your journal.

Even if you haven't tried playing Star Wars: The Old Republic, this is still hilarious. The old school Starfox voiceover at the beginning is dead on, since I've already said in the past that the space battles reminded me of Starfox. hah

Well, I was gonna come here and say HAY I FINALLY GOT INTO POTTERMORE...

But it looks like everyone else is finally in, too. Thunder has been stolen.

However, I haven't been able to really even log in due to dinner, cranky baby, trying to set up new computer, phone calls with Dell, phone call with mom, and just general site being down or too busy to let me log in.

Thanks to the mods and the players of waitandhope for a fun ride, a great experience, new friends, reuniting with old friends, and after 9 months of work, pain, sweat, and tears, the delivery was better than I could have ever suspected <3

WOW! 90 Holds in the first night!

All right, two big announcements. First, and I'll be adding this to the hold page as soon as I can, but remember housing lots, business lots, and character type casting is on a first come, first serve APPROVED app basis. We may have to ask you to pick somewhere else if it's taken by the time we get your app in and approved. (There's more leeway on typecasting, of course, as it's all right to double up a bit there, but ten-upping is another matter).

Second, and this is the big one, in an effort to help build camaraderie, collaboration, planning, plotting, and maybe even a meme or two to pass the time... until June 1, the opening of the game, all holds will be added to the salemhistory comm. Feel free to request access when you make a hold.. .otherwise I'm fixing to go through and start adding all the journals that requested the holds. This will be for you to plan out things with other players and work on building a bit of kinship even before the game starts. Plus hopefully it'll help make the month go by faster ;)

Heeey people interested in New Salem!

So we're in the process of building the 1998 to 2010 timeline to help prepare the background for the game. Most everything else is already done (yay!)

This is your opportunity to be a part of game history! I'm asking people to submit ideas for events from History (insert awesome echo here). Now, let me clarify, I'm not looking for events that involve your character concepts or anything specifically tied to your character or families... I'm looking for things within the scope of the Wizarding World in general. When you think about the events after the end of DH, what do you picture occurring?

No promises to include everything, but we'd love your input and help!

Samples:

June 2000, the founding of Dunmoody, a wizarding village in Ireland dedicated to honoring the fallen heroes of the War with Voldemort.

August 2001, the Dunmoody Daredevils team was formed and inducted into the British and Irish Quidditch League.

etc etc. We've got a handful so far, but we need a lot more! Get creative :)

Andrea linked me a Fraggle Rock video today and it reminded me how much Wash from Firefly reminded me of Wembley. I was going to make a side-by-side to post it, but it looks like someone beat me to it. At least that means I'm not alone ;)

Due to pressure from women, I have caved and changed the holds for NS to the following:

HOLDS. Holds last for five days and you can ask for one extension. New players can hold up to FOUR characters at once. Existing players can apply for up to two more characters after one month of play and meeting activity requirements for existing characters. This means a maximum of six characters.


Though, hey, let me warn you now that I can be kind of a jerk towards picking up more characters. If you're not very active with your current stable, there's no guarantee we mods will approve you picking up more. If you aren't feeling a current character, or don't have time for the ones you have at the time, why are you grabbing up another? :)
